On the morning of December 11th, the design review meeting of the "Whole Sea Deep Sediment Sampler" project at the National Local Joint Engineering Laboratory of Marine Mineral Resources Exploration and Mining Equipment and Safety Technology of our school was held at the Huayin Hotel. The expert group is composed of researchers Hou Deyong, Hu Yong, Yang Qingsong, Senior Engineer, Professor Wang Xuyang from the Department of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Huang Xiaojun from our university. More than 20 people from our school's Science and Technology Department, National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Marine Mineral Resources Exploration and Safety Technology, as well as project team members, participated in this evaluation meeting. The review meeting will be chaired by Liu Shuying, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of our school.
The Director of the Science and Technology Department, Wan Wen, first expressed gratitude to the leaders and experts who participated in this evaluation meeting, and introduced the basic situation of our school and the significant achievements in deep-sea sampling technology in recent years. Professor Peng Youduo, the project leader, provided a detailed report to the expert group on the performance indicators, structure and working principle, design calculations, finite element calculations, experimental verification, and other aspects of the sampler for this project. Mr. Liu Ping, the project design technical supervisor, provided further explanations on the detailed design drawings and manufacturing processes related to this project.
The expert group made comments on the design review, and believed that the preliminary work of the project was well prepared, the relevant documents and materials submitted were complete, and met the review requirements. The project team has completed key technical breakthroughs, and all technical indicators have passed experimental verification. The detailed design of the "All Sea Deep Sediment Sampler" project has been carried out, and the design results meet the contract requirements. And valuable opinions and suggestions were put forward on compatibility with robotic arms, operational safety, and sea trial plans. Finally, the leader of the review expert group, Hou Deyong, summarized his speech and unanimously agreed that after passing the project design review, it can proceed to the next stage of work.
After the meeting, the expert group led by Hou Deyong went to our school's National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Marine Mineral Resources Exploration and Mining Equipment and Safety Technology, and the Hainiu Building to inspect the project equipment and testing platform.
