On the morning of May 16, 2011, our school's School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering successfully passed the expert group's acceptance of the "Marine Science Comprehensive Survey Ship Bow Side Push Cylinder Sealing System" project, marking a new breakthrough in the field of marine vessel research.
The project acceptance meeting was held in the conference room of Xiangtan Huajin Technology Co., Ltd. Vice President Chen Anhua attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. Yu Jianjun, Chief Engineer of Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qin Yungen, Senior Engineer of China Ship and Ocean Engineering Design and Research Institute, Zhang Hong, Chief Quality Inspector of Wuchang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., and other nine people formed an acceptance expert group. Relevant responsible persons and project team members from Xiangtan Science and Technology Bureau and the Science and Technology Department of our school attended the project acceptance meeting.
At the meeting, Hu Yanping, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, gave a detailed report on the design, material selection, production process, and overall experimental testing results of the bow side push cylinder sealing system. After the meeting, the expert group visited the research and development workshop for on-site inspection and conducted control experiments on the system, such as sealing switch and sealing blockage rotation. The expert group unanimously believes that the opening and closing actions of the bow push cylinder sealing system are accurate and reliable, and the control and various protection devices are fully functional, meeting the requirements of the technical agreement. The technology is the first in China and has been approved for acceptance.
The Marine Science Comprehensive Investigation Ship is developed by the Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is a major national science and technology infrastructure project. The ship was designed by China Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Design and Research Institute and manufactured by Wuchang Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., with a total cost of 550 million yuan. The "Marine Science Comprehensive Survey Ship Bow Side Push Cylinder Sealing System" is a component of the bow side push of the ship. Teachers Hu Yanping, Wan Buyan, Huang Xiaojun, and Liu Pingping from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of our university have undertaken the development of this project and commissioned Xiangtan Huajin Technology Co., Ltd. to manufacture it. This project plays an important role in eliminating noise interference caused by side push water flow on underwater acoustic measurement instruments.
